Last week saw Saving Lives ambassdor Fabian Delph’s debut for the England senior side – and he’s been receiving a lot of plaudits for his performance. The Metro noted that, “the younger Yorkshireman enhanced his growing reputation with a very tidy display indeed”; the Telegraph’s Henry Winter observed that, “Fabian Delph a definite positive for England”; and Jamie Carragher suggested that, “there’s no reason he can’t force his way into England’s plans”.
Great work, Fabian – and it seems the plaudits have had an effect, with the Aston Villa player tipped to replace the injured Jordan Henderson against Switzerland tonight.
It’s great to see a Saving Lives star making a real impact elsewhere, too!
STOP PRESS: And what a starting debut it was! Fabian put in an all-action and energetic display against Switzerland last night. As the Daily Mail puts it, the Villa star “produced a confident display packed with the energy and desire which will give the England boss hope”. England beat Switzerland 2-0, and the side’s midfield looked very sprightly thanks to the Saving Lives ambassador.
