HIV-related stigma still stops many positive people from living their best lives – that could be because they don’t feel comfortable sharing their status with a new partner, or accessing healthcare without discrimination.
That’s why we’re proud that our positive ambassadors are helping us deliver a simple message: getting tested saves lives. Their varied lives and stories demonstrate more clearly than anything else the ways in which HIV can affect anyone, and how it needn’t be a barrier to life, love and work.
These Saving Lives Ambassadors and supporters demonstrate the most effective weapon to fight the stigma and ignorance that still surround HIV and AIDS. If stigma isolates, depresses and kills then education and conversation are surely the cure.
