The former British pole vault record holder both indoors and out, Kate was born in South Africa. Moving to England with her family when she was four, Kate’s initial interest was in gymnastics – but by the year 2000 she had switched to the pole vault.

Her personal bests, and British records, were 4.57 metres indoors, and 4.61 metres outdoors. She still holds the first record, losing the second only in June 2011 to fellow Sport Saving Lives advocate, Holly Bleasdale.

She won the bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, and represented her country at the London 2012 Olympics. She has now retired from the support – but remains a full-time Saving Lives advocate!
