We’ll be promoting our new postal testing serving, TakeATestUK, at Birmingham PRIDE this weekend. Via special voucher codes included on leaflets we’ll be distributing to revellers, individuals will be able to access a few HIV testing kit via the online request widget at the TakeATestUK website.
Our testing service is another of our answers to the challenge of combating stigma, increasing testing take-up and ensuring that more people living with HIV know their status. Late diagnosis of HIV can mean people get sicker than they need to – and may pass on their infection to others.
Saving Lives exists to promote testing of all sorts, and TakeATestUK is our latest effort to ensure that we can drive down the surprising figure that one in five people living with HIV in the UK are unaware of their infection. So look out for us this weekend at Birmingham PRIDE – and take the test to know your status.
