At the recent British Weightlifting Championships, our Sport Saving Lives advocate, Jordana Freemantle, won second place overall. This is a fantastic achievement which sets her up for further success later this year.
“It was a very close competition,” Jordana explains. “I was ahead by 5kg leading into the deadlift – however, I was not able to pull my last deadlift to win the Championships. I lost by 10kg overall.”
Narrow miss regardless, Jordana has been selected to represent Great Britain in the World Championships in Pilsen, Czech Republic, from 7th-13th November. This competition will be broadcast live on the internet and will possibly be recorded for international television.
“There will be a good battle between me and my fellow countrywomen at the Worlds,” she promises, “as well as with other top international lifters.” And, of course, she’ll be promoting Saving Lives – and wearing our kit – in front of a global audience!
The very best of luck to her – and big thanks, too.
