“Education is the best antidote to Stigma.”

“People in the UK are dying because they don’t consider themselves at risk of HIV or Hepatitis.”

Curtis Davies began his career at Luton Town, but has since played for Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion, Leicester City, and Birmingham City. He’s currently captaining Hull Tigers – and was eager to sign up to our Saving Lives squad, too!

“Saving Lives is a good cause with a great message,” he says simply. “I’m happy to help spread the word as best I can.”

Curtis’s old stomping grouns of Birmingham is one of the UK’s hottest spots for HIV, and with one in four of those living with the infection in Britain unaware of their status, we have a lot of work to do. Football players and their clubs can help promote the importance of HIV testing in diagnosing and treatment HIV, and Curtis is one of many happy to join the fight.

Curtis was West Bromwich Albion’s second youngest captain ever, and has captained Aston Villa in Europe. He returned to Europe with Blues, playing in the team’s first match on the continent for half a century. He has been at Hull, playing as a central defender, since 2013.
