Reducing stigma and promoting mutual understanding is at the heart of what Saving Lives does. The positive people who work with us are central to our work: not only do they inform our policies and campaigns, but their own stories are part of the story we tell as a charity. There are as many ways of having HIV as there are people who live with the infection – and nothing breaks down stigma like understanding that.
It can still be difficult to disclose your HIV status, much less speak up in public – so the positive ambassadors that work with Saving Lives deserve our respect. Once you’ve learned about them, we think you’ll agree.
